The light for picture # 5 was placed above the models head, the light is falling on her face very nicely and creating a nice glow on her face but there are not really any shadows in this picture. This shot includes the torso as well as the face, the model was posed in front of the light, looking to the side. This picture was taken horizontally, when I took the picture I was looking straight ahead and the camera was focused on her, I was relatively close to her when I took the photo. With the bright light and the smile on the model's face it communicates that she is happy and that the photo was meant to express happiness. When I took picture # 3 it conveyed a whole different message, the picture was definitely more mysterious, i focused more on the model's eye and made the lighting darker so that it was a mystery of who the model was.
Pic 2: The light is most likely coming from the windows. The models are standing in a circle with only two faces showing, and two backs towards the photographer. The background of this photo is a long hallway. And on the sides of the model (the one where we see the side of her face) there is a window where the natural light is coming from. It looks like they are in a church either at a communion or a wedding. The photographer is standing in the back of the girls a couple feet away. The black and white color on this picture suggest a serious event is going. We cannot really see all of their faces but the side of their faces we can see look serious.
